- client can sign an Against Medical Advice (AMA) form to refuse care and competent to make decision.

Sedating meds or any meds that can affect the pt's cognitive abilities must not be asked to sign.

HIPPA violations
(Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act )
a. taking photographs of the client
b. release of medicalinformationtoanunauthorized person ( friuend, family, neighbor without the client's permis
sion )
c. leaving the curtains or room door open while a treatment or procedure is being performed
d. interviewing a client with only a curtain between clients ( where conversation can be overheard )

 

Advance Directives : 사전 연명 의료 의향서, 사전 의료 지시서(자기가 임종이 가까운 상태일 때 받기를 원하는 치료의 범위를 사전에 결정하여 기록해 둔 문서)

 

existence : 존재, 실재, 현존

appoints a person ( health care proxy ) : 의사결정가능한 보호자

DNR : do not resuscitate 억지로 생명유지 할 필요 없음

Deteriorating : 악화
